Burn Baby Burn

The family channel did a double wammy of disco tonight. Saturday Night Fever and Stayin Alive, what more could anyone ask for on a Saturday night. Watching these movies (and yes Rhayn it did make my butt dance) I realized I was glad I didn't grow up in that era. Were there are there really people taking disco dancing as seriously as the Disco Inferno himself John Travolta?

I shouldn't be making fun of these wonderful polyester dancers, the 80's weren't much more sophisticated. The 80's were full of color, wonder and big hair. Being on the younger side of the cousin spectrum, I want to know if our older cousins went through any disco related fads. Whether they did or not, tell me which fad you practiced to the full extent and from which era.

My fad was the 80's sock doubling and mismatching. I wore some many different colored socks that rarely matched in color and wore many different pairs at one time. Sadly this horrible trend of mine lasted well into the 90's. Sorry guys no pics do to no scanner.

Tell me your fads you groovy chics!!!!

I was still in grade school during the disco era so no groovy thing to relate on that.. My favorite 80's fad was wearing a tie. It's actually making a hip comeback in my specific social circle, so I'm looking forward to that. And the summer before last I got to rent a tux so I could be "best woman" in my friends wedding..

See you only match your socks because you only wear white ones now! You would totally never match them if your drawer were full of brightly colored socks!

I didn't have any really cool fads. I was a bit of a geek. Too late for the disco era, but not really into the full 80's stuff. I did love the Bee-Gee's, just like Tif-do. The only real fad I did was ratted hair in the beginning of high school and permed hair (like a poddle as my husband tells me) at the end of high school. And I did wear the colorful legwarmers over my jeans. So cute it was.
