Melody as Dorothy (10 months old)

I sewed her Dorothy dress from an old skirt that I had. She is too excited about her shiny shoes that I don't think she is going to keep them on. Hmmmm maybe some double sided tape? :)

Oy.

I am in over my head with the tin man costume. I found the coolest aluminum tape in the duct tape isle. It's easy to work with and very sticky.....I am not sure it is going to survive after two Halloween parties. Oh well. Pictures coming soon. Poor Collin looks like he is about to walk into a volcano in the shiny suit. It is stiff but it might make him hold still a little :)

Cowardly Lion

Almost done, just need to decide how to clasp the front together (buttons, tie string, velcro?) and put on his medal of courage.

So our little family has the right number of people to do the wizard of oz for Halloween. Little Melody will be Dorothy. I finished her dress last night. Cutie Patootie!! (again pics later) I have an old witch dress (lucky me, I get to be the bad guy) We have most of Joe's costume done if I can find all the parts from the last time we did this 6 years ago. Now I need to sew a courageous lion for Quintin and a heartful Tin Man for Collin.. Sew Sew Sew. Bit off more than I can chew? We shall see.....

Again behind with the blogs. School and life have been busy. Tonite is the last night for one of my classes. I can not express how excited I am for this particular class to end. It was quite unpleasant and I will just leave it at that. My Melody has turned 9 months old. Two teeth have drawn their first blood and I am ready to wean her (Too much info, I know) But really how does one heal after a bloody bitemark that is just to be aggravated over and over every 3-5 hours? Uhhhggg.
Anywho,I have also completed a couple more burns, pics later. Quintin's vocabulary has been soaring lately. Just wish there was more reason and understanding in the words. Someday I hope. Collin is having troubles at school. He was a victim of bullying and now is starting to be a bully himself. He is so small compared to the other students it is hard to envision. We have enrolled him in a program that helps him to learn that consequences happen with good and bad choices. Hopefully we have intervened early enough with this one.
Halloween is upon us and I am starting to get giddy. I need to start sewing costumes as soon as this week's finals are done (pics to come soon on that too!)
