WHEN????

I think it is time for Collin to visit his Papa again in Holbrook. My patience is wearing thin. I almost to the point where the kid has to be by my side every minute so he doesn't do anything naughty or he needs to be locked up. I go into the bathroom today and in the 1 minute of peeing as quickly as possible he sneaks under the kitchen sink and fills the cupboard up this febreeze. I finally moved every air freshner and cleaner and anything else he might destroy to a locked pantry.

Later tonite Joe comes in the office where I am working and taking a break from the day and leads me into the bedroom to find this:

My wonderfully intelligent demon child took my trumpet apart. Also emptied half a bottle of valve oil all over the horn (it is very well lubed now) and all over the carpet. Mind you that is several $1000 horn and most of my favorite memories involve my trumpet. When do I get to trust this child? I can't even leave him alone with Quintin yet because he is way too rough. If I can't trust him now, what is he going to be like when he is a teenager? I don't see how my parents did this. (hopefully I wasn't taking everything apart left and right though)

Simpson baby

My little man has turned 10 months old. He also has taken his first steps. He could probably walk if he didn't get so excited and proud of himself which usually leads into falling over.

I have turned in all my paperwork to become a substitute teacher. It will still be a bit of wait until the fingerprint thinger gets done though. We shall see what happens and hopefully my courage to do this will not dwindle by then. Am I ok with leaving my babies behind 2-3 times a week. Or better yet, if Collin doesn't get into preschool this semester, am I brave enough to set this little beast on someone else. I think Bri can handle him but can anyone else who is willing?

Madison and Collin helped me plant random flower seeds in the front yard. Hopefully something will grow. We planted a lot in hopes something will turn up. I think I really want something to appear so that the kids don't think I am a liar. I told them pretty plants will appear in 2 weeks and maybe they will turn into flowers. Oh well, if doesn't happen we will plant already bloomed plants instead so they can see some results.

Quintin's first birthday is coming up and I need a theme. I am a theme fiend and for once I can't think of anything. Themes that can not be used are sesame street, Cars, and castles/dragons. I don't want to repeat Collin's themes yet. Someone asked me what movie does Quintin watch and that could be your theme. The only movie this kid really watches is The Simpson's Movie. NOT the best theme for a one year old's party. I know I am a bad mommy to let me kid watch this, but it lets me get dinner cooked without tripping over a little critter.

Just a Friday

Pecans Pecans PECANS!!! Lavan's pecan trees have produced a huge harvest this year. He doesn't sell the pecans so whoever wants some can take a bucket and get as many as they want. We took about 20 pounds worth and my fingers are raw from peeling the suckers.

Last week I took our durango in for an oil change. While I was there, the technician says there is a call back for a part and they are going to switch it out for free. I am there, I have nothing to do so I say, why not, it's free. 2 hours pass and my tech comes in with a set of keys. They are not the keys to my car. He starts apologizing and says when they were replacing the part they broke a different part and it will take a few days to find it. So I drive home in a cute (powerless) but cute PT Cruiser. What a fun little car and Joe even fit inside it!! We had it for a week and I switched out the cars and got my Durango back. Everytime we go on a trip I love the durango more and more. What a joy to have a good vehicle.

I have been considering getting my substitute teacher license. Money is so tight that if anything happened I am not sure what we would do, so subbing twice maybe three times a week doesn't sound too bad. Quintin has turned into a terrible biter so unfortunately I have been weening him from the breast feeding. We made it to a little over nine months so I think I might be all right with it. At least with that I will be free enough to get a small job without having to worry about pumping.

I have an appointment set up for Collin for child screening for preschool. His speech is a little funny (very slurred and fast) and he has some weird social issues. So we are seeing if he can go to the Barely Bear program. Hopefully he won't have to be potty to trained to go because he is the most stubborn child when it comes to potty training. If anyone has any ideas let me hear it. We have tried rewards, bribes, punishment and the wear underwear all day long thing. He could care less and sit in his poo forever if we let him. I don't know what to do with this kid. He did start Sunbeams this year and actually enjoys it. We couldn't take him to nursery, he would scream for the whole two hours (or however long the teacher could handle him) So hooray for SUNBEAMS!!!

Quintin has four teeth. Sharp and bitey. He is also very determined to walk. He will turn around on the couch and push off thinking that it will just happen and then lands straight onto his face. He has started clapping. It is the cutest thing. He will sing and clap for a very long time all on his own.

Conner is still among us. About once every 2 weeks he will get sick again and throw up. If he does this, poor guy will get a couple of enemas until his bowels are empty and then he fine and happy again for about another 2 weeks where we have the joy of repeating the process. I think if he wasn't such a picky eater he wouldn't have the problems. He could eat a more fiberful diet or something. Oh well at least it isn't costing us anything and he seems to take it all right and isn't suffering. When he is feeling healthy he is very happy and runs a muck through our house leaping and clawing my couch.
