Kinda Lonely

Baby can play peek a boo already.

It's 9:00 AM. Today is the first day my husband had to go back to work. I got to keep him for a week but I miss him. Collin is at his grandparent's house. It has givin me time to get to know Quintin and to rest and heal. I still need to rest and heal more but I miss Collin. His grandparents offered me another week, but I don't know if I can last that long. If I have him come home will I regret not having the quiet? I miss the "men" in my life.

Other than that everything is going pretty good. Quintin is an eating machine. The moment I put him down he wants his next meal. I hope breastfeeding isn't always like this cause there is no way I will be able to have any time for Collin. As for sleeping, I take what I can get. The baby isn't sure what night and day is, I know when Collin comes home the baby will figure that one out pretty fast though. With Collin's constant noise making there is no way to get any deep sleep in the day time.

tomorrow

Will be too excited to post in morning. We will be at the hospital at 5AM and have a baby sometime after that. I will drop a line when I can.
TTFN

nope.....

Contractions stopped at 3AM this morning. They were 20 minutes apart and toe curling. Oh well, I guess we are on for tomorrow morning then.

Day 3 past due date

UHggg. No baby. No contractions.
We went to the doctor and set a date. Well the doctor set the date since it was the only one open this week. We will be going to the hospital at 5:00AM on Thursday to get induced. Hooray!?! I didn't want to get induced in fear of a long and painful labor. I am considering just getting an epideral before too much pain so that I can enjoy my day and have visitors, take a nap, and play games with Joe. Is that selfish and being a weenie though? I felt like I could get through labor with this second child if it came naturally and wasn't hard labor the entire time. Also having the idea that your second child is supposed to come faster than your first. Oh well, I have another day to think about it..........

Well, maybe another day. I lied about the no contraction thing. Ever since the doctor did the internal exam(yucky) my uterus got mad and has been contracting since about 11am today. Not contractions that I can time yet but enough to make me sit until one is gone. Bothersome enough that I sent my kid to a friend's house to play.

Wouldn't it be funny to have the baby early after calling all the family and setting up the perfect babysitting plan for Collin? I am not getting my hopes up either way and just shut my brain off so my body can do what it needs to do (right, shut my brain off)
Anyways, that is the plan, we will see if I make it til Thursday.

0 days to go

Where is this little person? I have been taking several walks a day and nothing really happens, well besides being highly uncomfortable as I waddle around the apartment complex. I am very sick of phone calls. "where's the baby?" "aren't you in the hospital yet?" As if I didn't already feel kinda depressed that it hasn't happened yet, I get about 5 of these phone calls a day. I know they are well wishers and what not but come on, if I was having or had the baby I WILL CALL THEM!

I didn't really know there was a pregnancy depression of "waiting". I know this can happen any minute but it is really starting to wear on me. Kinda feels like I got ready for finals in college but then decided to not take the test after all the hard work. No, I didn't do that in college but I think the feeling would be the same. When I was pregnant with Collin, he came out the time I begged him to for about a month. I wanted a nice long weekend with Joe and baby so I told Collin he needed to come out for Labor Day weekend. And..he did. This little baby is already refusing to cooperate. I have even had Collin tell him "Quintin Come OUT!!." Even Collin's voice isn't doing the trick.

Everyday I clean the house including dusting and vacuuming. Yeah, the vacuuming is happening almost 3 times a day now. I can't nest any more. I think maybe if I just let the house get dirty maybe the baby would come out. Maybe the thing that bugs me the most is that I was absolutely sure this little one was coming early. But right when I "knew" it was going to happen, the stress of house and Joe's job came upon us and I think it scared the baby away. Joe has a job that already loves him and the house is currently pending so the stress is gone right?

At my doctor's appointment last Friday, I finally made it to a whopping 2 centimeters dialation. I could eat spicy food but I don't want heartburn and I heard Castor Oil is a myth and can actually harm baby..... So walking and maybe some lovin' but is there anything else I should try that isn't TOO weird?

when???

Not there yet. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to see if anything has happened. With my luck this poor little baby is going to born on Friday the 13th.

8 days to go

I went to the doctor today. No opening, no dialation, no nothin. Well except for constant "practice" labor pains that I have had for about three days now. I will regret saying this later but I am tired of practicing, let's get this over with!!!

The new wanted due dates are for this weekend or next weekend. No weekday baby. Lavan has been in the hospital this last week due to major fatigue. They found out that he is missing about 2/3 of is bloodcell count and they have no idea where it went. So for the last days he has had lots of tests and there is still no answer. He is being released today after several blood transfusions. Hopefully he will start feeling better. My mom spent the week in Pima helping with baby Max while Lavan was in the hospital. Since she missed that week of work, I have been forbidden to have the baby during the week until she gets caught up on work.

My sweet husband woke me up last night around midnight and said "Let's get the house." I started cry and hugged him forever. This was the only thing laying on my mind for the last week and has been driving me crazy. With all the stress I am kind of amazed I haven't forced my self into labor. Or maybe it is the other way around, where you are too stressed and the baby will wait til it's better. So anyways, the papers were faxed today and the deal has been finalized to the point where we sit down with our realtor and sign a mountain of documents to seal the deal completely.

I am going to make a lame attempt to forget about the house for a few days and concentrate on how to get this little one out of me. Maybe Collin and I will go for a long walk after his nap and see if that gets things started.

10 days to go

No baby yet. Hoping to wait until this weekend and then let's get this over with.

On Friday Joe came home early and told me some very bad news. His company that he works for took 4 people into a room and said "sorry, but our company is not making enough money so we are going to have to lay you off." So Joe was laid off without any warning and it started that day. What now? We have a baby due any minute, a house that has a down payment on it already and too much is planned for the next month. His job was kind enough (sorry you can't hear the sarcasm in my typing) to give two weeks severence pay and offered him Cobra insurance (which by the way cost most of his severence pay). The baby will be taken care of insurance wise, now we need to decide whether we back out of buying the house and lose the down payment money or just go through with it, with the possibility of Joe commuting to the big city to go to work.

The positive side to this is that Joe was unhappy where he was working and this gives him the opportunity to change and step up to a higher position. Also on Saturday we posted his resume on Monster.com and had about ten offers by the end of Tuesday. His cousin works for a really neat internet company that does websites and other software programs for some great clients: AZ Diamondbacks, Phoenix suns, Phelps Dodge, Phoenix Zoo just to name a few. Anyway Joe went to an interview yesterday and came home feeling everything went well and by that afternoon he recieved another phone call and has a job. Also the salary will be somewhere between 10%-20% increase from his last job. He started this morning and I am hoping everything is going well. I also have my fingers crossed that the company may be willing to let him work from home a couple of days a week so that we can keep the house. It is very internet based so......hopefully.

I need to move. I need to get out of this city and start a different life. One that revolves more around family and myself. I need to further education. I need a different social life. I need to play music again. I don't want to sound selfish but I want change. My fingers are crossed and hopefully we will get the information we need from Joe's new job today. Hopefully we will get some divine guidance soon so that if there isn't going to be change this way, then I will be able to accept it more easily and readily. Hopefully......
