Worse than the flu

So for a full month I was using an app on my phone called "Lose It"  I really liked it because it did all the math calorie counting for me.  If I went running that night, I would be able to subtract calories from my total and get to eat more!! I am all about number goals if it is easy to keep track of. In that month I lost 9 lbs, and was able to run straight for almost 2 miles.
On the day of my Bubble Run 5K (three weeks ago?) I woke up with an itchy throat.  Nothing much but I knew a stupid cold was coming in.  During the run, I tripped (sadly I was not pushed) and scraped up my elbow pretty good.  Nice swelling, nice bruise.

Within 5 days my voice was gone.  Just a sore throat, dry cough, and very squeaky.  10 days into the coughing, I can't breath any more.  Poprock sounds are coming out of my lungs and I feel like an elephant playing paddy cake is sitting on me.  I coughed through Grandma Carter's birthday party and hid in the back room of my parent's house on Sunday when everyone was over for lunch.
By Wednesday, I gave up and went to the doctor who immediately gives me a breathing treatment which makes me shaky and my heart race.  I am sent home and not allowed to go back to work until Monday (if I am breathing better).  Yay for pneumonia,  bronchitis, and temporary asthma.

Because of this lung mess, I haven't been running (that's right running, I finally graduated from the wogging).  I am sad because I will have lost so much momentum.  I also messed up my diet.  The medicine I am on, leaves a nasty taste in my mouth and all I want to do is eat and get the taste out of my mouth.  That and I am stuck at home and bored.  All I want to do is sleep (and eat).

I have also found it to be difficult to get better knowing my Grandma Carter is in a room 30 minutes away and can't breath any better than I can.  She has been placed in hospice because of pneumonia. I want to help her. I want her to know everything is going to be okay, her family loves her, and even though we will miss her, it is okay to go home to Grandpa Carter.

I am going to go to work tomorrow and hopefully all will go well.  I need to get my mind distracted from the last two weeks.  I need to get back on track and start moving again.  Hopefully this lung thing will allow me to at least walk without getting out of breath.
