The joy of Breast feeding.

My baby is a eating, pooping machine. It is wonderful that she is a good eater but that is all she ever wants to do. I know I am making enough milk for her (hence the pooping part) but why cant she eat a little less often? It happens once every 2 hours and at night at least every hour. She is also a fuss pot at night, determined to be held constantly. I need sleep. I need to be able to function for my other demanding children. I need the hormones to be normal again. It almost makes me want to consider bottle feeding her formula just so that we can get on some kind of schedule.

Story: I was feeding Melody in the Jiffy Lube parking lot yesterday. It was warm in the Durango so I didn't have a blanket covering us. I wasn't showing anything either though, my shirt was covering my breast and her face. The Jiffy Lube guy walks by and says if everything is ok. I say we are fine. He comes back again about 20 feet from the car and asks 'Can I walk up to your car?" Thinking he needs to tell me something about the Durango, I say sure. He asks are you married? I reply rather confused, "Yes." He asks if it bothers me having him stand there while I feed my baby, I reply "no, this is natural." He says, "if it is natural, can I see?" All I say is "No". If he had any interest in just seeing the baby he could see all of her but her face....pretty sure he didn't want to see the baby. Thank goodness the perv just walked away after that.

Creepy.

I want to have some great words of wisdom for you, but I don't. She does sound like Gwennie, with the holding and eating CONSTANTLY. This was why I loved my slings. I quickly figured out how to nurse in the sling and kept active. Maybe helping her stay awake in the day?

Wow. Creepy, but funny. I've never had anyone say anything to me about breastfeeding.

Sorry about having to feed so much. My second baby ate all the time! Still does and he's 8 months. Good luck!
