VICTORY!

After numerous  interviews, disappointments, and overwhelming perkiness, I finally landed a full time teaching job.  I am officially a 6th grade teacher!  (Okay, it is not official until Thursday when I sign my life and soul away to the Coolidge District for a full year).   At this point I have been told that the classroom is contained, meaning I teach all subjects and the classrooms never swap around.  I totally prefer this so that I can work with my students exclusively, learn about their specific needs, and memorize only one classroom full of names (I inhale profusely when it comes to names)
It is everything I have been begging for for over a year and yet suddenly I am soooo  nervous.  It will be fine if I can get through the first two weeks. Rules and relationships will be established and the students will be mine.  I will be strong, the kids will think I am the meanest and yet the coolest teacher ever.  They will come to me with their problems and our standardized testings scores will be victorious!
And yes, I will be this awesome!

Your 6th grade class will be so lucky to have you for a teacher. It's about time they snatched you up - good for you for persevering. Summer's officially here this week so school will be starting before you know it.
