My little baby is 1!! I want him to stay my "little" baby but there is no stopping this kid. He is in the 91% on height. He will soon be able to stand up to his big brother so Collin better enjoy this while he can. Quintin loved the balloons and loved his first cake. At first he just dipped his fingers in each color and tasted them one at a time and then dove in. He actually kept his little birthday hat on the whole time too. His favorite present of course was the loudest (thanks aunt lynda) Tomorrow we are going to take him in to do his portraits.
I have been subbing for the last three weeks. A roller coaster ride of doom and terror. My first two days were a breeze. I subbed for the computer lab and all the kids loved me because we got to play games. After that it was all down hill. I had the second grade class from heck. Cuss words, vulgar notes, kids hiding and ditching etc etc.... After that I had a 7-8 grade social studies where the teacher left me nothing to do with these kids. And of course if you ask them what they are working on they all lie about it. So we played some ice breaker games. It went well till I got to the 4th period class where I was put in with 3 boys who decided to claim I was racist and unfair. I was also called a @#$#$% ##$%^ &^$#%% and that list goes on. I was so upset with this mess, once I got rid of the kids at the principle's office I was in tears and terribly embarrassed when a friend so me in my classroom crying.
I told myself if I have one more day like this I am going to quit. Luckily I had the sweetest 2nd grade class. My niece Allison was in the class and my Sister in Law was two doors down if I needed anything. Fortunately I didn't need anything, the kids were so good. We even had extra time to play games.
I still don't have an opinion about this job. If I were a teacher, so far I think I would teach 4-5 graders. I seem to understand their mindset and I am still a bit taller them (almost.)

The party looked fun and how was Easter? Sorry about the rough times at school...even seasoned, 30 year veterans can bomb at subbing if there are no plans...I hope you reported the teacher and request not to sub for them again...you can be picky!! Once you figure out who the good teachers/classes are just stick to them...and, the end of the year is always rougher than the beginning...I did my student teaching in 5th and LOVED them...Oh, and my first year of teaching (I was 21, only a babe) I cried on the drive home at least once a week!!
