Lavan Update

Well for those of you haven't heard,
Last couple of months have been rough for Lavan. He went to the Dr, and they ran a blood test which resulted in him missing about 2/3 of his blood. They found out he had a serious ulcer and also found out he had a hole in the cavity that incases your heart and his stomach snuck up that hole and was sitting behind his heart. Being there it was causing his heart rhythm to be abnormal if the heart was being touched by the stomach and tried to make his heart short circuit (electrical current did not like being touched)
Yesterday he had surgery and they removed the stomach, which was 7 inches of stomach squished behind his heart, from the cavity and had the tissue sewn up. They also had to do a temporary stomach staple, well sort of, the upper stomach fundus is being wrapped around the esophogus. Poor guy is going to be on a liquid diet for 1-2 weeks and then baby food textured diet for another several weeks. Anyways, he would appreciate phone calls since he is going to be bored sitting at home for quite a while. Email me and I will give you his number. Also if all goes well, he will be out of the hospital by Friday.
